Objective: Validate an educational video for the identification and control of urinary incontinence in elderly women.
Methods: This is a methodological study carried out between August 2022 and September 2023. It was developed in four consecutive stages: literature review, preparation of the educational video, validation by expert judges and adaptation according to suggestions. To this end, 11 expert judges with training in the health area and professional and/or academic experience in caring for elderly people participated in the study. Data collection was carried out using a semi-structured instrument and analyzed according to descriptive statistics. Validation took place through the calculation of the content validity index.
Results: The following aspects were identified in the literature: pelvic strengthening, behavioral measures, and pharmacological treatment. Based on scientific evidence, the storyboard was created, which was validated by expert judges. All items evaluated were considered valid. The overall content validity index was 94%.
Conclusions: This study built and validated an educational technology that can be used in different health care scenarios. Through the educational video, it will be possible to equip the health professional and facilitate the teaching-learning process.
